Today, in 31 B.C., I am very happy. Octavian and I have just defeated Antony and Cleopatra! I can sense this is going to be one of my greatest accomplishments. Congratulations Rome!

Today, in 32 B.C., I have mixed emotions. I am glad because I have had a succesful aedileship and have completed many buildings including the Pantheon, but my father-in-law has just committed suicide. I don't know what I am going to do.

In 36 BC, I was left in charge of the attempt to defeat Sextus. Thanks to superior technology and training, my men and I won decisive victories at Mylae and Naulochus, destroying all but seventeen of Sextus' ships and compelling most of his forces to surrender. Octavian awarded me the unprecedented honor of a naval crown decorated with the beaks of ships; as Dio remarks, this was "a decoration given to nobody before or since". I will remember this forever.

Today is the best day for me in all of 38 B.C. I was appointed governor of Transalpine Gaul about a year ago and now I just put down a rise of the Aquitanians. I am now preparing to fight the Germans.
